Reverse Osmosis Systems

Pillars:

There is a growing trend in the world that sees it moving to a more decentralised and off the grid model of being able to provide food, water and power for small communities and industries of which the most critical aspect is to secure a reliable water supply.

Being able to do so with a solution that is able to desalinate sea water with renewable energy at a very low energy requirement is critical. Current methodologies of desalination requires some form of energy to create clean drinking water but the most common method is pressurising water over a reverse osmosis permeable membrane and to do so efficiently means that the energy input from the high pressure pump must be minimised as far as possible.

If this is done efficiently even sea water desalination can be done with the power generated by photo voltaic solar panels or small wind turbines and such is the case for AqSep’s Water Makers.

Reverse Osmosis Systems

AqSep has a range of products that are manufactured as plug-and-play integrated reverse osmosis systems.

These systems are used worldwide to help households, businesses and communities move off the grid and become self-reliant. Danish engineering allows this to be done within a compact unit that is energy-friendly and running at a very low operating cost to the owner.

The modular design allows for these systems to be manufactured and shipped within days and are on offer in two design ranges, the basic (B) and the energy efficient (E). Around the world solar-powered AqSep units provide drinking water to hundreds of thousands of people. Consider using the AqSep unit where a city, village or community lacks running water, remote islands, remote rural locations, an alternative to trucked water or even to supplement rainwater into your drinking water supply.

The basic system utilises an efficient pump to produce pure permeate water at a rate of 6.3kWh/ 1000L of permeate and the energy efficient system using an energy recovery device is able to operate at 2.2kWh/ 1000L of permeate.  The permeate flow’s produced range from 4 000L/day up to 22 000L/day from feed water qualities of 1 500mg / L of total dissolved solids to 45 000mg / L feeding the unit.
